In today’s culture:
↪ Immorality is honored: God’s loving commands against damaging lifestyles are called “hate speech.”
↪ Selfishness is affirmed: Denying self is seen as detrimental to one's self-esteem.
↪ Victim mentality is promoted: Blaming others has replaced personal responsibility.
↪ Evil entertainment is popular: Ungodly music, television, movies, and books desensitize our consciences.
Surely, there has been no other time like this where the Bible so clearly conflicts with culture.
Not true …The Bible has always been in conflict with culture. And there have always been professing believers who've distorted God’s Word to accommodate the culture.
We can stand firm by doing as the Apostle Paul did:
"Therefore, since through God’s mercy we have this ministry, we do not lose heart. Rather, we have renounced secret and shameful ways; we do not use deception, nor do we distort the word of God. On the contrary, by setting forth the truth plainly we commend ourselves to everyone’s conscience in the sight of God." 2 Corinthians 4:1-2
Let's remember God’s mercy, refuse to lose heart, and stand firm on God’s unchanging Word.

Amen! In Ecclesiastes, Solomon said there’s nothing new under the sun. It’s so true. People have been changing God’s word since the beginning to suit their own purposes. But the word does not change or become obsolete just because the times have changed. It’s as true and vital today as it was the day it was written and woe to those who change it.
ReplyDeleteThe Word is life. It’s our weapon against evil and our strength for facing life. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
